10:00am – 10:30am: Refreshment & Exhibit Break

10:30am – 11:30am: Inferential Models Implementation Considerations

Logan Chung, Global Solutions Architect, Equinix

Inferential AI refers to the process where trained AI models, typically deployed on edge devices or cloud infrastructure, perform real-time decision-making or predictions based on incoming data. This stage is critical as it requires low latency to ensure prompt responses, especially in applications like manufacturing processing, hospital ERP, and airport operations. The trade-offs between latency , infrastructure, and costs are key considerations—while high-performing AI models can deliver accurate inferences, they may require significant energy and processing resources, leading to model drift and failures. Only about 28% of models are successfully deployed today.

Key Takeaways:

  • Strategically placing AI at the edge to decrease latency for applications/AI performance.
  • Trends on data storage and unification at the edge and cloud, including security
  • Inferential AI and AI model training infrastructure deployment to increase success rates at the edge

11:30am – 12:30pm: User-Centric Data Integration & Data Products for Scalable Business Insights

Terry Dorsey, Sr. Data Architect and Evangelist for North America, Denodo

With the rapid growth in data demand, organizations today need data solutions that aren’t just powerful but intuitive and accessible. We’re at a moment where AI has revealed the possibilities of data-driven insights—though it’s also made clear that robust data management is critical. The traditional ways of managing data, from ad-hoc analysis and planning to real-time analytics and machine learning, need rethinking. Business users now have unprecedented demand for access to data, allowing them to drive innovation and growth. However, this shift requires a data approach that balances accessibility with control, enabling users while ensuring data security and quality.

For data architects, this means embracing systems that connect data across different sources—whether in databases, data lakes, or the cloud—and ensure it’s easy to find, access, and use in the tools they’re already familiar with. Today’s technologies, from faster databases to automated data pipelines, address pieces of this puzzle, yet they’re not the whole picture. When we prioritize user experience, we create data solutions that don’t just meet technical demands but truly serve people—empowering them to use data effectively across the organization. This perspective offers a framework for rethinking data management: building flexible systems that adapt to changing business needs and support data-driven success.
