Moe Alkhafaji, CIO, Discovery Health Partners

Moe Alkhafaji serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Discovery Health Partners, where he brings a history of success as an innovative entrepreneur to the oversight of technology architecture, platform and solution enhancements, new solution development, and IT operations. Moe joined Discovery from HealthEngine, where in the role of CTO he applied his big data and machine learning expertise to rearchitect and transform its healthcare pricing and quality information portal technology. Prior to that, Moe was co-founder of Cancer IQ, a cancer risk analysis API that is fully integrated with hospital information systems and which was widely hailed for its ground-breaking technology. Moe was also a co-founder and CTO at medCPU, where he architected and developed solutions that consisted of natural language processing algorithms, machine learning models, and a decision support engine to deliver an automated medical advisor for large hospital systems. The company was later acquired by UPMC and Merck. Moe has also held roles at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Argonne National Labs, and Abercrombie and Kent, among other firms. His areas of interest include problem solving, enterprise applications, software and platform architecture, high performance computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud computing, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing.

Stuart Alter, Director of Technology, Newfields Lab

Stuart Alter, as the Director of Technology at Newfields, oversees the Newfields Lab and the internal Newfields IT department. He is responsible for the long term vision and strategic planning for the Newfields Lab including the support of its mission, continuity of the Newfields Lab as a technology thought leader in the museum field, and development of internal resources, staff and technologies. In his past experience, he has developed strategic plans and applications that have advanced entities toward their goals through innovative utilization of technology. He has also led major technology initiatives through informed decision-making, partnerships and team development in local government, private industry, non-profit, and large-scale and independent consulting companies and has created inventive and impactful solutions utilizing data analytics, technology, and ingenuity.

Laurence Barron, Director of IT – Security Officer, Anselmo Lindberg & Associates LLC

Have over 25 years in Operations and the Information Technology field. Background includes Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity with a strong background in SDLC, Business Requirements Analysis, Partnership Development, TCO Valuation, Process Reengineering an ROI Analysis Information Technology professionals in areas of Development, Infrastructure as well as Operations and Communications.

Tom Braden, Vice President, Enterprise Technology, IMMI

Tom Braden joined IMMI in July, 2014 and has responsibility for all infrastructure IT initiatives for IMMI’s growing worldwide presence. Tom has over 22 years of IT experience, with over 12 years in manufacturing IT management. He is a 1990 graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, and regularly attends professional continuing education courses at Unitek College in the San Francisco Bay area. Tom currently holds 13 technical certifications in various Information Technology fields. Prior to joining IMMI, he served for 12 years as an Infantry officer in the Indiana Army National Guard. Tom and his family recently built a home here in Westfield, and he and his wife Angie enjoy traveling and enjoying time with their four children.

Neil Goodrich, Director, IT, Acting CIO, M. Holland Company

As the technology leader at the M. Holland Company, Neil is responsible for driving and establishing information technology strategies, digital organization change, and company software, mobility, and applications development. His multi-disciplinary background includes previous experience in accounting, project management, and investigation while his recent work has focused on building IT teams around cultures of creativity. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Master of Business Administration in Operations Management from the UIC Liautaud Graduate School of Business. He continues to have strong ties to the UIC campus, where he mentors a cohort of high performing students as part of the Business Scholars program.

Kin Lee, CIO, The Joint Commission

Kin is a result-driven senior executive with a demonstrated track record of achieving business results through innovation, collaboration, and unleashing people potential. Complementing the acute global general management experience and instinct, also being recognized as a domain expert in technology and business management, operation excellence, outsourcing, vendor management, IT strategy, process improvement, and shared services. A forward-thinking leader combining vision, creativity, technical, and business acumen with global experience spanning technology, manufacturing, human resources, and financial industries.

 

Kin is leading the enterprise-wide vision for the development and execution of information technology and business applications for the Joint Commission, the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare, Joint Commission Resources, and Joint Commission International. Before joining The Joint Commission, Kin was the Senior Vice President Information Technology and was accountable for Kforce firm-wide technology and development strategy and DevOps. Formerly he was the Global CTO of Aon Corporation providing executive leadership for worldwide information technology and service delivery strategy and operations for both internal business units and external insurance and human resources clients. Kin managed over 1000 technical resources globally with over $500M operating budget in this role. Prior to joining Aon, Kin was the CTO of ManpowerGroup. In this role, Kin managed all aspects of global information technology, information security, application deployment and support, ITIL service management, architecture and engineering, and technology solutions. Prior to this role, Kin was the VP & GM of Honeywell Shared Services (HSS) in Shanghai China where he led strategic and operational responsibilities in providing global shared services to all Honeywell business groups and growing HSS hubs in China and India to support Honeywell expansion in Asia Pacific region.

Jim P. MacLennan, SVP & Chief Information Officer, IDEX Corporation 

James P. MacLennan (Jim) is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at IDEX Corporation, an applied solutions business that sells highly engineered products to customers in a variety of markets worldwide. MacLennan has responsibility for Corporate IT service offerings for IDEX’ portfolio of business units, and drives innovative thinking through strategic initiatives that leverage Information and Technology as growth drivers for the industrial manufacturing space.

Rob McGillen, Senior Group Accounts Director and Client Partner, Rightpoint; former CIO, Grant Thornton

With 25 years’ experience, Rob McGillen brings a unique perspective on current and future opportunities of digital business for innovative companies. Rob has worked on five continents and in dozens of countries, was a global CIO for Grant Thornton LLP for 7 years, helped merge 20+ companies, founded and led a successful digital transformation agency, has been a Chief Digital and Marketing Officer, and now works with business leaders to achieve transformative digital experiences as a Client Partner at Rightpoint LLC. 

Blaine Mathieu, Chief Marketing and Product Officer, Vantiq

Blaine Mathieu is a multi-time CMO, CPO, and CEO, with 25+ years of experience in prominent private and public technology companies including Gartner, Adobe, Corel, GoodData, and now with application platform company VANTIQ. He holds undergraduate Business and MBA degrees from the University of Alberta and Athabasca University in Canada.

Matt Moore, Vice President Applications & Business Value, Mitel

A seasoned leader with more than 28 years of experience in the computing, networking, and business communications industries. Matt is a customer-focused leader with a focus on developing go-to-market strategies, and driving a business value oriented culture. In his current role, Matt oversees Mitel’s vertical sales organizations for the US as well as enterprise sales in the North Central US.

 

Prior to joining Mitel, Matt was Vice President Sales & Customer Success at ShoreTel. Matt has also held leadership positions at other business communications companies, including AT&T, SBC & Southwestern Bell. Earlier in his career, Matt spent several years working in IT with extensive experience updating network communications infrastructure across multiple platforms.

 

Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Management from Baker University.

Daniel Nottke, CIO, Kirkland & Ellis

Dan Nottke is currently the Chief Information Officer for Kirkland & Ellis LLP, a 100 year old law firm whose lawyers spawn innovations to our client’s challenges. Since joining the Firm in 2008, Dan has led the transformation of the Information Technology department from a decentralized team to a fully centralized Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based high performing organization. Dan is currently leading the creation of a technology strategy, which sets a clear road map for all technology initiatives and spends for the next three years.


Prior to joining Kirkland, Dan was the Executive Director and Chief Information Officer for Navigant Consulting. Whilst at Navigant, Dan directed the companies eTransformation efforts, for the majority of their back office functions, including the implementation of CRM, portal, time reporting, payroll and the implementation of a centralized Cisco based phone and voicemail system for the companies 47 offices. Dan also served as the America’s managing director for BearingPoint, where he successfully migrated BearingPoint’s 50+ offices from systems managed by KPMG LLP to a fully outsourced, professionally managed environment.


Dan spent the majority of his career working for Andersen Worldwide and Arthur Andersen, where he was a partner, global chief technology officer and America’s chief information officer.

Dan was named “CIO of the Year” at Legaltech News’ 2015 Innovation Awards, held in San Francisco in July 2015. The Innovation Awards are an annual recognition of the best technology leaders, products and projects in the legal community. Award recipients were selected by a panel of Legaltech News’ editorial staff.

John Payton, Director of IT, Banner Service / Banner Medical

John has 18 years’ experience leading IT departments, and developing IT strategic plans that improve business performance. He has worked for private, public, and private equity companies. In all these companies he has been a member of their executive teams and a regular attendee and presenter at the company’s board of director’s meetings.


He has a MBA and lives in the Chicago area.

Diana Smith, Vice President, PrimeTSR

Diana has worked with large and mid-size corporations for more than 20 years to help them achieve significant business objectives through Information Technology projects and initiatives. Her technology career began at IBM, where she specialized in retail industry clients and technologies.  She is currently the Vice President of Client Relationship Development at Prime TSR, an innovative technology modernization consulting firm here in Chicago.
